This is the domaine’s second white wine, named until 2008 when, after this vintage, it became La Clarté de Haut-Brion. Only 1,200 cases of this wine are produced a year. It comes from vines belonging to Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Hand-picked Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes are fermented in French oak barriques before being raised for 9 months to a year in oak (40 to 50% new). The expression of Sémillon is suave, elegant and profound. The acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc refreshes the otherwise rich aromatic palate. This is a wonderful example of a Pessac-Léognan cru classé that pairs well with white meat or fish.
