One of two prodigious Syrahs include the 2013 Syrah Dusty Lane. This comes from John Alban’s clonal selections, probably accessed from Chave or Chapoutier Hermitage vineyards in France. Utilizing 38% whole-clusters, bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is a killer Syrah. Opaque purple in color, with notes of steak tartare, blackberry, cassis, camphor and melted asphalt, this wine is full-bodied, super-majestic, multidimensional, and just a fabulous, rich, savory offering with moderate tannin. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and drink well for 15-20 years.
