A brilliant Châteauneuf-du-Pape that oozes class and finesse, Bravay’s 2010 Domaine de Ferrand Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a traditionally made blend of close to 97% Grenache, with the remainder an assortment of varieties. Aged all in tank, it boasts a complex array of sweet red berry fruits, white pepper, wild flowers, and licorice that flows to a full-bodied, seamless, and elegantly put together wine that has beautiful concentration, incredible purity, and very fine, polished tannin that frame the finish. Lovers of traditionally made Châteauneuf-du-Pape should not miss this and it is the essence of Grenache when made in a more feminine, elegant style. It is certainly superb now, yet will be even better in 3-5 years, and shine for 15-20 years.
