Tasting Notes 酒評 |
The only 2006 I was able to taste from proprietress Isabel Ferrando for this retrospective, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Réserve Auguste Favier, did not disappoint. Made from 80% Grenache, 10% Cinsault and the rest Syrah and Mourvèdre, mostly from rolled pebble soils, it was completely destemmed and had the Grenache aged in tank and the balance in three-year-old barrels. Giving up elegant, perfumed notes of kirsch, blackberries, licorice and roasted meats, it’s seamless and sexy, with the vintage’s charming, elegant character front and center. This is a beautiful wine to enjoy anytime over the coming 5-8 years.
