| Tasting Notes |
The nose is intense and dominated by very ripe yellow fruit such as peaches and apricot. In the mouth, the wine is round, crisp and displays elements of candied fruit and even smokiness. An aperitif wine “par excellence”, our Pinot Gris Grand Cru Eichberg may be enjoyed with foie gras, lobster, poultry stuffed with figs or with spicier dishes. “A touch of beeswax on the nose leads onto a rather sweet palate where a pithy citrus bitterness and freshness set pleasant accents in the smooth, ripe, rounded and generous fruit. That beeswax notion resurfaces on the long medium-sweet finish.” Score: 92, Wine Enthusiast, 2018 Score: 90+, Ian D'Agata, Vinous, 2018 |
