Located just outside the village of Margaux, the 70-hectare vineyards, of Château Rauzan-Ségla are considered a priceless treasure, reflecting the diversity of soils on the appellation. Benefiting from good drainage, the estate’s alluvial gravels soils are conductive to deep rooting, enabling the beauty of the terroir and grape varieties to be expressed to the full.
These great terroirs, lovingly tended to for over 350 years, were praised by the visionary Pierre de Rauzan and listed in the 1855 classification.
They have belonged to CHANEL since 1994 and wonderfully reflect the estate’s philosophy of excellence, based on the joints efforts and dedication of our teams to producing intensely elegant wines.
An instance of pure pleasure. A tempting escape from the worries of everyday life. To taste a glass of Segla is the promise of this and much, much more. Château Rauzan-Ségla’s little brother was born under a lucky star. One that reveals an artisanal savoir-faire which has been further enhanced by modern technologies and practices. Yet, over the years and successive harvests, Ségla has developed its own, unique personality. A passionate, spirited character with fruity aromas that will blow you away from the very first sip. This wine has undoubtedly inherited its big brother’s elegance, the trademark of this prestigious wine estate. However, what is even more obvious is its succulent character. Pure and immediately accessible drinking pleasure. A pleasure that takes over your body and senses and delivers the very essence of happiness: a tasting experience defined by a powerful immediacy that nothing can resist. All of a sudden, time seems to stand still. All that matters is the present moment and savouring this unique experience.
