【Feature】Château Labégorce
This elegant neoclassical estate is located on the famous Route des Château. Seventy hectares of the 250 – hectare Margaux and Lascombes, this property is mentioned in the 1868 edition of Cocks and Feret’s (“Bordeauz and belonging to the Noble de la Bégorce family”. The château is described as “one of the most beautiful and best situated in the commune of Margaux”.
The Perrodo family purchased Labégorce in 1989 and set to work restoring the château building and vineyard. They also work improved winemaking techniques, resulting in a charming elegant wine with a beautiful tannic structure and fruity notes.
The Perrodo family also acquired Château Marquis d’Alesme, a third growth Margaux, in 2006, which they aim to transform into one of the most prestigious wines in the appellation.
